Performance dashboard
The performance dashboard shows the key metrics for your channel and content at a glance. Looking at views, CTR, watch-retention metrics, and subscriber changes together tells you how content moves from being shown to actually being watched and to channel growth.
Key performance metrics
Views
Check how much your video was actually watched.
Click-through rate
Check what share of the content shown turned into an actual click.
Watch retention
Use this to see how long viewers stayed with the video.
Subscribers
Check how content performance connects to changes in channel subscribers.

Why you read the metrics together
| Situation | Example reading |
|---|---|
| Views are high but CTR is low | The content is shown enough, so you can review the elements that drive clicks, such as the title and thumbnail. |
| CTR is high but watch retention is low | Clicks are happening, so you can check the opening and pacing to see whether the video matches what viewers expected. |
| Views and watch retention are both high | You can use this as a sign that both the topic and the structure of the content are getting a good response. |
| Subscribers grew after a particular video | You can look at this together with other metrics to see whether that content brought in new subscribers. |
